Photograph of Leo
Lyons with Vince Lombardi.
Leo was a campaigner for a Hall of
Fame throughout the fifties. Finally, in 1962, NFL Commissioner Pete
Rozelle informed Leo that he would be involved in the opening of the
Hall of Fame in Canton. Leo was on stage, and praised by NFL greats
as a true pioneer. Leo donated many of the photos, from his
collection, to the Hall. The following year, Leo was on the field
for the coin toss for the Hall of Fame game.
